We are pleased to announce that there are two different types of travel support available for students and early career researchers to attend BioEM 2026 in Cairns, Australia.

Alexandre Legros Travel Award

In memory of Alexandre Legros, the BioEM board of directors established a travel award to support two students to attend the annual BioEM meeting. This initiative honours Alex’s legacy by encouraging the next generation of researchers to engage in scientific collaboration.

∙ The Alexandre Legros Travel Award is open exclusively to students presenting at the BioEM annual meeting.

∙ The highest-rated student poster and highest-rated student platform presentation will receive support.

∙ Abstract quality will be the primary evaluation criterion.

For any questions regarding the Alexandre Legros Travel Award, please contact us at Office@bioem.org. This initiative serves as a tribute to Alexandre Legros’ dedication to mentoring and supporting young researchers.

ARPANSA BioEM 2026 Travel Award

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) have generously supported 20 student and early career researcher travel awards for the BioEM 2026 annual meeting.

∙ The ARPANSA Travel Awards are open to both students and early career researchers (within 5 years of receiving a PhD as of June 2026) presenting at the BioEM annual meeting.

∙ The 20 highest rated abstracts (excluding those that are the recipients of the Alexandre Legros Travel Award) will receive support.

∙ Abstract quality will be the primary evaluation criterion.
