D’Arsonval Award

The D’Arsonval Award is the most prestigious award of the BioEM Society, recognising outstanding achievements in bioelectromagnetics research.

The award honours individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field, either through exceptional scientific accomplishments or practical applications of electromagnetic fields for human benefit.

The award consists of a silver medallion, a silver lapel pin, an illuminated testimonial and an honorarium, presented at the BioEM Annual Meeting.

Eligibility and Nominations

  • Nominations may be submitted by one or more Full, Charter or Emeritus Members of BioEM.
  • Nominees do not need to be BioEM members.
  • Candidates must demonstrate extraordinary accomplishments in bioelectromagnetics.
  • Nominations must include a signed nomination letter and supporting documentation, such as a curriculum vitae and/or evidence of scientific impact.

Selection Process

Nominations are reviewed by the Awards Committee and previous award recipients. The Committee’s recommendations, together with the nomination documents, are submitted to the BioEM Board of Directors for the final decision.
