ESoA Course Announcement | January 2026 – Naples

Within the framework of the European School of Antennas (ESoA), the course “Diagnostic and Therapeutic Applications of Electromagnetics” will take place in Naples, Italy, from January 19–23, 2026.

The course will be hosted at the College of Engineering, University of Naples Federico II, and is organized by IREA-CNR (Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche).

The program focuses on the increasing use of electromagnetic (EM) fields in clinical diagnostics and therapeutic applications, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), microwave hyperthermia, and thermal ablation, as well as emerging developments such as the synergistic use of EM fields and nanotechnologies. Particular attention is given to the dielectric properties of human tissues and the behavior of EM fields within the human body.

The course is primarily intended for PhD students and early-career researchers with a background in engineering or physics, and offers an interdisciplinary perspective with contributions from experts in electromagnetics, physics, biology, and clinical practice.

Course fee
• €550 – participants from non-profit institutions
• €1,100 – participants from companies

Student grants available
Applications for selected student grants are open until December 22, 2025.
